The map shows principal passenger train routes & bus links in southern Africa.  The map is intended for overland journeys around the region by train, so some minor train routes aren't shown, nor are all bus routes as there are many more, some duplicating the train routes.  Cruise trains such as Rovos Rail & Shongololo aren't shown here, just regular scheduled trains.  There's a more detailed map of routes within South Africa on the South Africa page.
